Something’s missing

Do you ever find yourself, during spare moments, aloud, or in your head, complaining about the “[your town’s] music and/or art scene”? Perhaps you say to yourself: there’s no variety, or perhaps you’re one of those that say there’s too much variety. Perhaps, you, like me, live in Flagstaff, Arizona and perhaps, unlike me, you’re not old enough to get into the bars and you just want to hear that granola funk band at Flagstaff Brewing Company next week. You and your friends just want to get down. Or perhaps you ask yourself: “Music scene? What is that?” Or maybe, like Comet Gain sings, you just think that something is missing.

The sad fact is that you have no one to blame but yourself. Maybe it’s time to get down.

Here is a brief tutorial about how to do so. It’s meant to be inclusive to everywhere, but I can’t help a certain privileging of information about Flagstaff and similar, smaller, less established cities.
