November is shaping up to be SWEET

It’s getting colder, and the nights get younger, which means the kids come out on time. It actually snowed a lil bit the other night. Lately, the locals have been fighting colds and braving the weather to come out on week-nights to see touring musical acts. Last week featured:

Reclaim Knowledge & Control Over Your Body @ The 321 House

Doohickey Project Flyer
http://www.doohickeyproject.org/

The doohickey project is a few friends struggling to reclaim knowledge and control over our bodies. We have planned a cross–country tour this fall to open a forum for people to discuss menstrual cycles, abortion options, and sexual health. The workshops and discussions will vary at every stop, changing to meet the desires of those who attend and participate.
The workshops we are planning are:

–Anatomy and Self–examination: An overview of external and internal sexual and reproductive organs, with a focus on the redefinition of the clitoris. An option of guided cervical self–exams with speculums where time and space permits.

–Menstruation, physiology and fertility cycles: An playful rundown of the menstrual cycle, the hormones involved and basic fertility signs.

–Abortion options: A workshop presenting some options for promoting bleeding. Including an explaination of clinical abortion procedure, access and legalities. An introduction to how plants can affect the uterus, and a description of menstrual extraction.

“Sunday Nite Listening Music” @ Macy’s

Circa 7:30 to 10pm, this Sunday the 12th, Eric Polchownie and Emmett White will continue together the tradition known as “Sunday Nite Listening Music”. That is, music you would have no problem reading or drawing or doing homework to, or dropping a tab and tripping ovaries. kiddin. But for real, no dancing or participation required. Just come, get some tea, and hang out and talk quietly while Eric and Emmett attempt to justify a life spent hoarding round pieces of petroleum. Our obsession, your amusement.

downtempo, jazz, ambient, folk, indie, trip-hop, soul, abnormities.

A Review of a Review of Bobby’s Review of Nicki Esqudero’s Review of The U.S. Vs. John Lennon In the Flag Live Nov 2-8.

Okay, I mean, I totally think this shit is funny. Ray might think it’s funny. Or at least postmodern. But it’s totally decreasing the chances of a good debate about the election coming up in less than a week. And the cocaine thing, which is really just kind of whatever. I’m pretty sure… I mean this whole self conscious text thing is so dated.

The review of the review is definitely the most personal thing I’ve written on Robothouse, the website. Hell, it’s the most personal thing I’ve written since Sid and Vicious days which is a title I haven’t even thought of in at least three years.

A Review Of Bobby’s Review of Nicki Esqudero’s Review of The U.S. Vs. John Lennon In Flag Live Nov 2-8 2006

I’ve got to be, not only the meanest, but also the lamest guy out there. I mean the self loathing and jealousy just comes through with flying colors. I mean, you try to cover it up with that last paragraph, but come on. It’s just sad really. That’s what it is. Just sad. I mean even if you’re 100 percent right on, who cares? It’s just a movie review. And in the Flag Live! Who gives a shit? Secondly, why so harsh? Not everyone cares about this dumb shit like Yoko Ono and John Lennon. Some people might not know that John Lennon was shot in 1981. That doesn’t make them a bad person. They don’t have to know that to have something to offer. You don’t have to be so elitist. Some people might think that the Beatles suck.
