yo, the showz were siiiiiiick. For some reason there were like 17 camera people at Pedro’s house….I wonder if their vids came out as good. Anyway, this website seems to generate a lot of comments for the political commentary stuff. Remember the chaos from the cocaine post? It’s just nice to see comments, even if they don’t hold relevance to the subject at hand. Oh, by the way, I did find some video footy of Landlord, so the dry spell will be over soon e’nuff.
Anyways, Sushi Fuji is freakin’ awesome. They don’t seem to get much business, so they have huge cuts of fish… cause, well, you really can’t save fresh fish for another day. I’d check it out ASAP. I was really stoked on the Mackerel Sashimi.

So, Phil and I just got back from getting massages (he had a lady work on him and I had a man who was probably about 55 with some tattoos and an earring and it was the best massage I’ve ever had) and while I was laying down I thought about the old robothouse website and how the format of that site seemed more conducive to comments, posts, etc. made by individuals other than the actual administrator(s) of the site.
What do you think? Sometimes I really miss that ol’ RH website. It kicked ass and people were on there A LOT for awhile and there were journals (e.g. Phil’s homerotica, now lost forever) and you could prank people (e.g. Handsome Tod) and you could instant message each other and you could see who was online (I’d be like, “Oh, BobHorseCock and BisonWolfBear are on the internet and so am I!”) and stuff like that. It was fun and very communication oriented.

Was it too expensive to run or time consuming than this one is? I mean, I guess I thought this website was going to kind of morph into your band’s website since uh…they have the same name. Maybe people are hesitant to impose.
Sorry about giving you a hard time in my last post, Ray. I just want you to know that I do look at this website everyday (and I’m always interested in and enjoying the things you and Bob create, I subscribe to the podcast, etc.) but I just don’t feel like the atmosphere is as encouraging for public commentary as it has been in the past.
So, since you asked, I believe that more people don’t comment on this website because the format isn’t necessarily geared toward that specific goal. But you’ve provided that environment before for this community…if you want to, you can do it again.

Landlord was fucking awesome the other week. B’ didn’t get to tape em ‘cuz he forgot his camera and by the time he got back with his camera, they were already done. Note that only the bands that were seen in this video were listed. I think I have some video footage of Landlord that I’ll be putting up soon, officially ending the purely unintentional media blackout of Flagstaff’s most badass metal band.

despite phil and wound having cameras for me those nights. wound kept hitting the record button, either editting it himself or accidentaly bumping the button whilst dancing. phil seemed to have mainly filmed the ceiling. when i get back the church will have camera classes. krista, and mary jess’, and i, are my favorite filmers. both phil and wound have an innocence about them, of which only phil deserves.
i do have great landlord footage, but the inner beach show that night got glitchy for some reason. i have no nicotine lipstick footage, and phil and wound were filming during hawnay, sorry guys.

Pete - I miss you! But I do have this to say: While you might control many things beyond yourself, I don’t believe that you can or should claim responsibility for the community “setbacks”. I remember you saying that same thing when you came over that night; the statement still confuses me to the point that I can’t tell whether you’re being extremely arrogant or self-depracating. They both manifest themselves from the same thing anyway, so I guess it doesn’t really matter. Believe.
I think it would be great to have a thread focused on that night. I also think it would be great for us to actually step away from that night toward the topic of real controversy (as you said) which is….what? Feminism? Power? Equality? Magic? Okay, this will be fun.
First things first: I believe (as in, how R.A.W. believes things) that people who understand their influence on others should ultimately promote self control in those same others, even to the point that those others can no longer be influenced as they used to be. Because I am not anybody else but myself, I truly cannot live anyone else’s life for them even when they want me to. When it comes down to it, everyone is utterly, perfectly, alone, no matter how much effect we have on one another. Individuals still have a choice; even your sorcerer’s wrath, Pete, can be stopped by the individual who makes the choice to stop it. Do you agree? That would be my only contention with the amount of responsibility you’ve placed on your position — I don’t think that responsibility should be so heavily weighted toward any single individual, not even one so fantastic as yourself. Your ability to reflect will only work if the subject of reflection is prepared to receive the image, and that is the choice they make, not you. That is all I am going to say in this public forum about the subject as I believe any more depth should be exposed in a personal conversation because this is more of a personal issue between you and I.
- So HATE. That was a tricky choice. You see, I can talk about all of those other topics I mentioned, but I’m not sure what to say about hate. Who was hating, and WHAT were they hating? This might be a point in which my absence at this event leaves me with nothing to say. That hardly ever happens to me. I’d prefer a pontification from somebody else if we’re going to discuss hatred.
- On the differences: Without a doubt, they are there. Between gender AND within gender. So what? Is the value any different? Yes and no. Even if that difference is strictly illusory, most people live their lives like it’s real. It’s a complicated question with a complicated answer. And you probably feel like I’m a good feminist because I’m not afraid of all of the things I understand. I don’t like lablels, but a lot of feminists (the women in particular) let the fear get to them.
- Finally, as you know, I think Freud is great. Though I would have to say that the super-ego is more of a threat to the id than the reverse. The id is just a little baby; the super-ego is an evil stepmother.

I don’t believe that magic, magick, magi(H)k, however you look at it, is non-reality; sorry if I conveyed that message somehow. But I do believe that the concept of ‘value’ is a piece of baloney. From my perspective, value is responsible for the rage, the jealousy, the pain, the suffering–all for what? Existentially speaking, absolutely nothing.
And here I trip myself up, for what of happiness? Does that matter to me? Hell yeah. I’d even say it matters to me to the point of saying that I value it. I try to be happy for as many minutes of the day that I can. I love to feel positive emotion, I love harmonious interaction, I love to let myself care about people. And pretty much everyday I think about how great it is to be Desi and to experience all of the things that she goes through in her life.
I followed you; I even nodded my head in response to your question. But what can a sorcerer’s sense of value do for the rest of us? Can it enlighten the masses or change those aforementioned in/organic patterns? These are pure questions, unweighted in a way that is difficult to convey online. I’m not a sorcerer and I don’t have those answers. I mean, I still don’t really understand why I choose to stay alive everyday instead of just shortcutting myself to the inevitable. Evolution is a mysterious thing.
