Spoken Word. It is a genre that is in the middle of great change. Once a haven for comedy and speeches and lecture recordings, is now finding the wild blend of poetry and music rooting in it’s garden, and ‘Flower Burn’ , plucked from a collaboration of Mr. Lane of NORAZ Poets and music phenom Jonathan Sherrill of NY, NY by way of L.A., will tickle that place behind your ear. On Wednesday, November 28th at 8pm the garden grows at the Applesauce Tea House.
Mr. Lane has called NORthern AriZona home for over seven years and is embarking on new dreams for his passion; spoken word. He founded NORAZ Poets and organized with Aaron Johnson the largest spoken word showcase at the historic Orpheum Theatre this past April having Saul Williams headline. He is a father of one beautiful son, Oren, and husband to one beautiful wife, Akasha.
Jonathan Sherrill will never bore his audience with his guitar capabilities. A recent graduate of the world acclaimed Musicians Institute in L.A., Jonathan grew up in bustling metropolis of Seeeedona. His passion for music is evident by his euphoria on stage and wants nothing more than for his audience to smile; inside and out!
During Flower Burns’ feature a Poetry Slam, hosted by the indefatigable Aaron Johnson, will entertain even the most discriminating poetry lovers. Two rounds of verbal battle will commence.
Flower Burn has a new CD blossoming in early Spring but don’t wait until then to hear them! They wouldn’t want you to miss out on something this special.
